Dale Carlsen

CEO & Chairman of the Board

As CEO and Chairman of the Board, Dale creates opportunities for foster youth by serving as a strategic leader and advocate for Ticket to Dream. His distinguished business experience ensures the foundation is setting compliant and effective policies, maintains and grows with positive financial health and overall effectiveness in reaching our mission. Dale is the founder of Ticket to Dream and over the years he has also served as the President and Chief Strategy Officer for Mattress Firm and was the founder and CEO for Sleep Train, Inc. He has a B.A in Real Estate, Finance and Insurance from California State University, and lives in California with his wife Dr. Katy Carlsen, a pediatrician, and has two children in college, Meghan and Joe. Gina Davis

President & Executive Director

As President and Executive Director, Gina devotes her time to improving the lives of foster youth by building awareness and creating strategic partnerships/collaborations with businesses and individuals to bring resources and opportunities to foster youth across the nation. She ensures Ticket to Dream has an integrated strategy, works efficiently towards our mission and is maximizing resources for the greatest impact. Prior to joining Ticket to Dream, Gina was Vice President of Marketing for Sleep Train/Mattress Firm and during her tenure lead the development of the Sleep Train and Mattress Firm Foster Kids program and outreach messaging strategies. She has a B.A. in Business Administration with an emphasis in Marketing from Eastern Washington University and lives in Washington with her husband Anthony and two children, Owen and Kylee.

John Haitz

Chief Financial Officer

As CFO, John helps improve the lives of foster children by utilizing his extensive accounting experience to expertly lead the management and integrity of all aspects of the Foundation’s accounting and financial reporting. Prior to working with the Foundation, John served as the Vice President of Sleep Train, Inc. for over 13 years. As a CPA, he began his career working for international CPA firms. With over 35 years of experience, he has an Accounting degree from the University of Santa Clara and obtained a Masters of Taxation degree from Golden Gate University. He lives in California with his wife Robin and has two grown children.

Juan Garcia

Program Officer

As Program Manager, Juan helps improve the lives of foster children by serving as the operational leader for Ticket to Dream. He facilitates and manages our non-profit compliance responsibilities, interacts with 180+ non-profit partners across the country and ensures all donations are being used to improve the lives of foster youth. Prior to joining Ticket to Dream, Juan was the Senior Business Relationship Manager at Sleep Train, Inc, attended California State University and lives in California with his wife Jen and three boys Larsen, Lucas and Leo.

Janet Anton

Accounting Manager

Janet Anton, helps foster children by adeptly managing our finances, allowing Ticket to Dream to quickly and efficiently serve foster youth and fund vital foster care programs for our 180+ non-profit partners. As Treasurer, she administrates fiscal, financial and budgetary responsibilities for the foundation. Janet also serves as a Business Manager for Bunker Wilson, an investment company, and was previously the Accounts Payable Manager for Sleep Train, Inc. She has a B.A. in Business from CSU Sacramento and lives in Loomis with her three children Lake, Cayman and Calie.

Meghan Renken

Program Development Manager

As the Program Development Manager, Meghan manages Ticket to Dream’s 180+ non-profit partners across the country. She leads the research, onboarding, and communication channels between our organization and the network of non-profit partners to maintain and distribute thousands of essential items through over 70 distribution centers every 6-8 weeks. Her deep knowledge of our network of partners allows us to tailor programs and outreach for the maximum impact.  In addition, Meghan oversees various aspects of our major fundraisers, Mattress Firm’s Pajama Bowl & Charity Golf Classic, and has assisted in the development of new programs at Ticket to Dream.  Prior to joining Ticket to Dream, Meghan was a Community Relations Specialist at Sleep Train/Mattress Firm where she oversaw the Foster Kids program partnerships, including the expansion of the program from 6 states to 43 states.  During this period of growth, Foster Kids’ partnership grew from approximately 70 non-profit agencies to 180+ non-profit agencies nationwide.  Meghan attended Washington State University, has a degree in Human Services Management, and lives in Washington with her husband, Shaun, and their daughters, Emerson and Lennon.

Mauri Knowles

Vice President

In addition to her role as Vice President, Mauri Knowles is the Director of Community Relations at MFRM Family of Brands. With the help of her dynamic team, she oversees the company’s nationwide charitable giving programs, which includes opportunities for employees to get involved in their local communities. Since starting with the company in 2004 in a Marketing role, Mauri has launched anddeveloped many of the company’s award-winning outreach programs. Mauri graduated from California State University, Sacramento with a degree in Communications focused on Public Relations.

Sarah Tierney

Secretary

In addition to her role as Secretary to the board, Sarah Tierney is an Executive Assistant at TaxAudit.com. At Ticket to Dream, she lends her planning and organizational skills to maintain records of the board. She has been an officer of Ticket to Dream since its inception, first serving as the Treasurer. Sarah is an avid supporter of foster children and a proud aunt to her foster adopted niece and nephew.
